Manchester United players are becoming increasingly concerned about the mood inside the squad after a series of disappointing results. With defeats to Arsenal, Manchester City, and a shock League Cup exit to Grimsby Town, confidence at Old Trafford is fading quickly under manager Ruben Amorim.

Dressing Room Atmosphere Declines After City Defeat

According to reports, the atmosphere in the Manchester United dressing room has taken a sharp downturn following Sunday’s 3-0 derby defeat to Manchester City. Sources claim players were particularly disappointed, seeing the clash as a missed opportunity against a City side that had recently lost to Tottenham and Brighton.

Optimism was high after a positive pre-season tour in the United States, but the reality of competitive football has brought frustration. The squad has managed just one win in five matches, a late penalty against Burnley, and morale is slipping fast.

Manchester United’s Struggles in Attack and Defence

Questions over United’s goalkeeping situation have further unsettled the squad. Both Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir have made costly errors, contributing to defeats against Arsenal and Grimsby.

In attack, Benjamin Sesko, signed for £73.6 million, is yet to score in five appearances. The Red Devils have managed just one open-play goal in six hours of Premier League football, leaving them with one of the weakest offensive records in the division.

Ruben Amorim Under Mounting Pressure

Since his appointment last November, Ruben Amorim has struggled to inspire results. Manchester United have won just eight of 31 league games, with only five of those against current Premier League sides.

This poor run has left United 14th in the table, bottom among 17 ever-present top-flight clubs since Amorim’s first game in charge against Ipswich Town. The pressure is now mounting on the Portuguese coach to deliver results quickly.

Upcoming Fixtures Crucial for United’s Season

Manchester United’s next three fixtures could define their season. They face Chelsea at Old Trafford on Saturday, followed by an away trip to Brentford and a home clash with Sunderland before the October international break.

Failure to turn performances around could see morale plummet further and raise more doubts about Amorim’s long-term future at Old Trafford.
